Stride is a step leaderboard for small groups of friends. This page says exactly what it collects, why, and what it deliberately never touches. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

Stride reads one number a day: your step count. Not your location, not your heart rate, not your sleep, not your workouts. Your steps are visible only to people in the same groups as you. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.

What Stride collects

Daily step count One total per day, read from Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android. Stored with the date and which of the two it came from.
Display name and photo So your friends recognise you on a board. The photo is optional; without one you appear as your initials.
Email address From Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your address. Used to identify your account and to send that code, and nothing else. Stride never emails you marketing.
Group memberships Which groups you are in and when you joined. The join date is shown to other members so a mid-week arrival makes sense.
Your daily goal Private. It drives only your own progress ring and is never used to rank anybody.

What Stride never collects

Stride requests read access to your step count and to nothing else. It does not ask for, receive, or store:

You can withdraw health access at any time in your phone's settings. Stride keeps working; it simply stops receiving new steps.

Who can see your steps

Your daily totals are visible to members of groups you have joined, and to nobody else. Leaving a group stops your steps appearing on that board.

There are no public leaderboards, no follower graph, and no way for a stranger to find you. Groups are joined by a six-character invite code shared by someone already in them.

Where your data lives

Stride stores data with Supabase, on servers in Mumbai, India. Access is restricted at the database level so an account can only ever read its own data and the data of people it shares a group with.

You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email address. Stride receives your email address and, if you allow it, your name. There is no password to create, and Stride never sees one.

What Stride does not do

Keeping and deleting your data

Step history is kept while your account exists, because the app shows a twelve-week history and weekly recaps.

You can delete your account from inside the app, under the Me tab. Deleting removes your profile, your group memberships, and every step record Stride holds for you. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups are purged on their normal rotation.

Children

Stride is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who can see it, the date at the top changes and you will be told in the app before the change takes effect.
